The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:
Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites. Victims' Families Fight Film About Madrid Plane Crash New York Times From Google News Search: "People" What happens to people when their unemployment benefits run out? Q. This is happening all over the country. Where are these people supposed to go to get help? Yes, I have already heard some suggestions. For instance, the churches, and the Salvation Army. But their resources are also limited!! Places like these, could provide a hot meal and clothing, but I am quite sure they can't pay for the peoples rent, and utilities! Can these people apply for Welfare and food stamps now, just to be able to keep a roof over their heads and be able to feed their families? Aren't these people just as eligible to receive Government aid as the people who ARE on Welfare and never actually worked a day in their lives? The monthly Index of the newly unemployed seems to be holding just a little under 10%. Has the… [cont.] Asked by Ruth S - Tue Apr 6 05:26:16 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I honestly don't know how people survive after UI benefits run out. Not that most people can do more than survive on UI benefits to begin with. The link below is where you can find information on government jobs. If you are not already employed by the Federal government, you need a college degree plus advanced education to qualify for a job as a secretary earning $43,000 a year. Jobs are located all over the country, but I doubt that the "average" citizen can get one because of the education requirements. You really really need to be already employed by the government. Entry level positions? No clue. I lucked out in a way because I was 64 1/2 when my company was bought out and about 400 of us were laid off across the country. How is it that some guys think a girl is attractive when other people think she isn't? Same with girls. How can a girl like a guy when others think he is not attractive? Think about it. Females and guys are always putting pictures on here right, and asking am I pretty or am I attractive. There will be some people say no your ugly and then others say no your so pretty or so hot or whatever. How is it that we all see different people in different ways? < 3 Asked by bamnblb13 - Wed Jun 16 14:33:23 2010 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Everyone has a different taste in what they are looking for. Maybe this girl has a great personality but not the prettiest and thats why some guy likes her and not for her looks while his friends think she is ugly when they don't even know this girl. Just remember different taste. :) Answered by Yvonne - Wed Jun 16 14:39:50 2010 Why are people in general kinder to more attractive people?
Q. Why are people in general more kinder to attractive people and meaner to less attractive people? For people who are mean to overweight people, some people are naturally big-boned and even if they loose weight they won't be skinny. (ex - Beyonce, I doubt if she lost a lot of weight she would a size 0) Will attractive people be treated better than most people most of their life? Or will they realize what it is like to be unattractive one day?
