How do you make a good income using affiliates?
Q. I would like to make some part time money building a web site and using affiliates. How do I do it?

A. Watch for the following criteria as you evaluate affiliate programs... - High quality product or service -- remember, it's your reputation that is on the line. Don't recommend products you wouldn t buy. Be aware of programs that are just a way to legally bribe affiliates to recommend overpriced products in order to collect excessive commissions. - Merchant has a good site that sells effectively. - Ability for affiliates to link straight to individual products, rather than just to the home page. (If the visitor has to find the product that you recommend, your Conversion Rate plummets.) - Great affiliate support is important. It indicates a high degree of commitment to the program and its affiliates. - Pays good commission -- hard… [cont.]

What's a good commission to offer a small handful of affiliates in selling a $300 product online?
Q. Have never done an affiliate program before, planning on doing it myself, with unique links and approved affiliates. Just not sure what percentage to offer though. It's a niche product and $300.
Asked by Marshall Kirkpatrick - Wed May 20 18:47:12 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. it should be a small percentage of your PROFIT. Say you make $150.00 gross profit. Is $15.00 per sale reasonable for the comission? that would translate to 5% of the sale. Don;t just look at the sale price - if you are only making $50 on a $300 sale, before all your other expenses, you might only be able to afford to pay 2% or $6, and so on don;t forget to take into account any charges you have to pay for credit card/paypal fees, and so on

How do you advertise for affiliates programs without a website?
Q. Can someone please tell me where can I advertise or promote an affiliates program so I can make some money?
Asked by hrobinson r - Tue Apr 10 07:22:43 2007 - - 9 Answers - 1 Comments

A. if you are an affiliate for some product, there are three ways of doing free advertising: (1) the signature portion of your emails - make out a bright logo contaning your affiliate code and put it in your signature area - this is legitimate and is allowed by all email providers and not a spam (2) there are free affiliate websites availabe with clicbank, rich jerk etc. which you can take up, or post in forums about your profession. the more practical way will be to make all your shirts and t-shirts with affiliate logo and print them front an back, wear them to football games, distribute to your friends, hehe.

How do I get affiliates for my web site? How much can I give an affiliate for each product sold?
Q. If I charge 20 dollars, and I give an affiliate 5 dollars for each product sold is this good?
Asked by Jennifer D - Sat Mar 1 22:07:27 2008 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments

A. CJ.com charges a lot if you want them to manage your affiliate program -- that's why most of their clients are the big boys (ebay, Yahoo, Verizon, etc). $5 is 25% commission. It really depends on the product and potential for earnings for the affiliates. Amazon Associates program gives commissions ranging from 5-8% of the sale. While I know of several affiliate programs that give 50% of the sale to the affiliate. Check out Clickbank.com -- they cater more to small and home-based online businesses who want to look for affiliates who can help them increase their sales and sell their products. Of course, you have to factor the fees you will pay your affiliate management company, whether it is CJ.com, LInkshare or Clickbank

How can I get affiliates to hear and promote my original folk music?I want it to be heard and make money too.?
Q. I am an original artist that has a very melodic, poetic approach. My lyrics are deep and I play a unique tuning on my acoustic guitar. It's f#-c#-c#-f#. The D and high-E are removed. What you get is a fifth going down, and a fifth coming up. The texture that this tuning creates is awesome. I would patent the darn thing if I could. I've been playing this tuning for over ten years and although I can play a normal six string tuning , this tuning is so much more original sounding for how I write. I play a mean organ too. Right now I play a Hammond s-6. Oh', I had a B3 and an M3, but I got tired of the flute tone. Hey, you would too if you played it 5 hours a day for 3 or 4 years! Especially if it was your second instrument. I just know one… [cont.]

A. Account payable trade is when you send your customer an invoice. and they are obligated to pay you. Affiliates on the other hand are usually folks that are in between you and your customers. Affiliates may or may not collect payments.

Any bloggers out there making money? Do u use a tax ID with your affiliates?
Q. Did u use your SSN or did u get a tax id number?
Asked by My name is MJ Beatch! - Mon May 12 04:53:17 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I'm going to just answer the second part of your questions, because that is really what is relevant. If you intend to make money with your business, then get a tax ID. Separate your business and personal expenses as well as incomes. If you're really serious about this and expect to make money, why not form an LLC and get all the advantages? The time to form an LLC or corporation is BEFORE you need it, because it is to your advantage for your business to be "seasoned" if you later are looking to expand. There is way too much information to go into here, but I hope this gets you started with ideas.
